Jerami Grant, Portland Trail Blazers

This past offseason, Jerami Grant signed a huge five-year, $160-million contract extension with the Portland Trail Blazers. Amid everything that was transpiring behind the scenes between the Blazers and Damian Lillard, it was surprising to see both sides reach a deal. Nevertheless, in the end, the Blazers didn’t believe it was in the best interest to part ways with Grant as an asset just yet.

But that could change heading into the NBA Trade Deadline, especially when he becomes trade-eligible (January 15). If the Blazers are sold on building around their young core, it’s probably best if they end up moving on from their more veteran assets. Grant would be one of those players that could bring in a great return in a potential trade. I feel strongly about the idea that the Blazers will eventually trade Grant.

The question is, is this the NBA Trade Deadline where the Blazers move on from Grant or will they wait until the offseason to pursue a potential deal?
