Julius Randle, New York Knicks
The New York Knicks have had an inconsistent start to the season. In fact, you can make the argument that the performance of Julius Randle so far this season has epitomized the team early on.
Randle has gotten off to a tough start to the season and he’s struggling mightily with his shooting efficiency. You’d have to imagine that he’ll be able to turn things around at some point this season and if he does, he could emerge as a difference-making star available at the NBA Trade Deadline. That said, there could be one big concern if the Knicks are hoping to trade him, and it’s the fact that he still has one guaranteed year remaining on his contract after this season ($30.3 million) and a player option ($32.4 million) for 2025-26.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Knicks handle the trade deadline. If they wanted to make a big splash as buyers, they could. But at the same time, they could be somewhat of a “seller” too if they’re searching to offload Randle’s contract.
