Trend No. 4: The Rockets are beating good teams

Finally, looking at the Houston Rockets’ encouraging start to the season, it’s hard not to take notice of the impressive wins that they already have on their resume. The Rockets have beaten the Sacramento Kings twice, the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, and Denver Nuggets to start the season. Those are all teams that are expected to be playoff teams in the Western Conference this season.

Those are quality wins for any team in the league; they look even better for a team that is still growing collectively and trying to prove their value like the Rockets. Their schedule doesn’t lighten up by any means over the next few weeks and we should know more about this team soon.

But the early indications are encouraging. Even though it’s only been nine games, there is a lot for the Rockets to feel good about right now. We know the Rockets have the talent to keep pace with any team on any given night. Moving forward, it’s all about consistency. That could ultimately decide whether this hot start is just that or if it’s genuinely the beginning of what could end up being a magical season for Houston.
