Los Angeles Lakers add LaVine and Caruso

If the Los Angeles Lakers wanted to take full advantage of a potential trade with the Chicago Bulls, perhaps they could look to expand the horizons of a possible blockbuster deal between the two teams. In other words, why just target Zach LaVine when you can kill two birds with one stone and carry out discussions for Alex Caruso (who they’ve been already linked to) at the same time? In this potential deal, the Lakers would try to pry LaVine and Caruso away from Chicago.

It would begin with the framework that was included in the previous offer – D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, and Austin Reaves. They would add Jalen Hood-Schifino, three second-round picks, and keep the 2029 first-round pick in the offer.

If the Bulls would be open to such an offer – you’d have to think that would rely on what the trade market looks like for both players – the Lakers would add a third supporting star next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis while also adding depth with Caruso. He’s also a player that seems to do nearly everything right. This is a deal that could make the Lakers a favorite to win the 2024 NBA title.
