18. Orlando Magic
Through the first month of the season, the Orlando Magic has been slightly a bit better than many expected them to be. At 7-5, they’re sitting in a good spot for a young team that was hoping to make a bid to compete for a Play-In or Playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. It’s clear that the Magic is close to being a true playoff contender in the conference. However, we still have to see more considering this team is still so young.
The good news for the Magic is that they have one of the most well-rounded rotations in the league. The Magic have six players averaging double-figures in scoring, led by Franz Wagner and Paolo Bachero – two rising stars in the league. If the Magic continue to make small developmental steps this season, they’re a team that should make the Play-In Tournament.
My concern is that they’re one bad week or two from losing their way. Maybe that’s where their inexperience and youth will hurt them the most. Either way, the Magic are a team worth keeping an eye on for the remainder of the season.
