2. Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics continue to check all the boxes of what you look for from a possible championship contender, passing two big tests this past week in which they beat the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers (two teams that are sitting in that second tier of contenders in the Eastern Conference). Jayson Tatum continues to look like a legit NBA MVP candidate and the addition of Kristaps Porzingis looks like the best offseason move of the summer.

The Celtics may have the best starting 5 in the NBA but still have some big questions off the bench. If they can solidify it with a move at or before the NBA Trade Deadline, it will go a long way in boosting this team’s chances at winning a championship. With the offseason the Celtics had, it’d be surprising if they didn’t find a way to make it happen.

Right now, the Celtics look head and shoulders like the best team in the East. Especially as the Milwaukee Bucks continue to find their footing. Look for this trend to continue for the Celtics, barring injury.
