NBA Power Rankings: Lakers eyeing big move; Clippers are broken?
27. Memphis Grizzlies
The early-season narrative surrounding the Memphis Grizzlies hasn’t been great. They look lost and like a team that might’ve already hit their ceiling. Nevertheless, you can’t truly judge the Grizzlies until Ja Morant makes his return from suspension. Until then, the job for the Grizzlies was to just remain afloat in the Western Conference. So far, they haven’t been doing that good of a job.
Memphis has one of the worst records in the league and is in desperate need of a jump start. There isn’t much that they do effectively so far this season and if things don’t change quickly, this year is going to transform into a lost season. It’s somewhat disappointing that the Grizzlies have been underwhelming to start the year. However, to a certain extent, it’s not all that surprising.
The Grizzlies are in a bad spot. Morant is still a month away from returning to the lineup. I’m not really sure how this season ends but if the first month is any indication, it’s going to be another step back for Memphis.
