Brooklyn Nets
Cam Thomas
The Brooklyn Nets have had an inconsistent start to the season and while Mikal Bridges made the huge star-level jump that perhaps many thought he would heading into this season, he’s still one of the more promising players on this roster. However, in what has become a pleasant surprise for the Nets, Cam Thomas has completely popped off the screen through the first few weeks of the season.
It was an ankle injury that he suffered that has been the only thing to stop his early-season momentum. Through eight games played, Thomas was averaging 27 points and four rebounds per game on 48 percent shooting from the field. Thomas’ huge developmental jump this season is something the Nets should be thankful for.
Charlotte Hornets
Mark Williams
The Charlotte Hornets may be struggling once again to start the season but the good news is that the team may have finally found their answer at the center position. Over the past few years, the Hornets have been looking for their answer in the frontcourt. They should be thankful that they’ve finally found a possible long-term center in Mark Williams.
Williams has popped this season, averaging 14 points and nine rebounds per game on 74 percent shooting from the field in his sophomore season.
