NBA Trade Rumors: Predicting how seven early-season trade whispers will end.

We’re only a month through the 2023-24 NBA’s regular season, but the NBA’s trade rumor mill is already humming. There are teams that appear to be close to throwing in the towel on the season and pivoting toward a rebuild while others realize that they may be a piece away from emerging as a true championship contender.

That perfect storm is what will begin to carve out what the trade market will look like heading into the trade deadline. With a few trade whispers already out in the open, we try to predict how seven of the early-season rumors will end.

NBA Trade Rumor No. 1: Golden State Warriors may trade Jonathan Kuminga

According to a recent report, the Golden State Warriors may be inching closer to the point where they’re willing to finally part ways with Jonathan Kuminga. He’s a player who simply hasn’t played out as the Warriors thought he would and if hasn’t worked by now (his third season in the league), there’s no guarantee it will ever click for him in Golden State.

At this point, it’s probably in the best interest of both sides to move on. And I’d be surprised if it didn’t happen.

Prediction: Similar to the way the Golden State Warriors moved on from James Wiseman at last year’s NBA Trade Deadline, I believe they will do the same with Kuminga in February.
