Way-too-early starting lineup and bench projections for USA Basketball’s 2024 Paris Olympic roster.

There’s been a lot of talk recently about the Team USA Basketball roster for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, with almost every player saying. “I will play if asked.” There are an incredible amount of options and combinations for this roster, but I think there are some players who should stay home if the USA really wants to assert their dominance.

Steve Kerr and Co. have their work cut out for them, as they will surely face backlash no matter who does and who doesn’t make the final roster. In addition, some of the players up for consideration may be past their prime and may not even want to compete at the end of another grueling NBA schedule.

Even with the amount of options this team has, the starting lineup is all but set.

USA Basketball’s 2024 projected starting lineup:

  • Steph Curry
  • Jayson Tatum
  • Kevin Durant
  • Lebron James
  • Joel Embiid

This is by far the most talented starting lineup the USA can put out; they’re all superstars who can create for themselves or play off-ball. Their size would also give a lot of international teams a lot of problems. I want to look at the rest of the team, and who would make sense for the reserve positions.

Due to their current performance in the NBA, I think there are some guys that you simply must have on the team and other guys that will reluctantly have to stay home. Let’s take a look.
