Draft moves: Selected Alex Perth, Bub Carrington, and Kyshawn George in first round

It may not be popular to give the Washington Wizards props but you can't deny that they absolutely crushed the 2024 NBA Draft. To start things off, the Wizards selected Alex Perth with the No. 2 overall pick. You can make a strong argument that Perth was the best prospect in this year's draft class. Getting him at No. 2 is a win. Washington then traded up to No. 14 to select Bub Carrington with the last pick in the lottery. A prospect with plenty of offensive upside, Carrington is the type of explosive player the Wizards should be willing to take a flier on at this point in the NBA Draft.

Then, to close things out, the Wizards traded to No. 24 to select Kyshawn George with this last first-round pick. In total, the Wizards came away with Perth, Carrington, and George - three prospects that could be ranked in the top 20, or perhaps even higher, depending on who you ask.

Washington adds three more quality prospects to their developing foundation and you'd have to think there's going to be at least one standout player from the bunch.
