The Memphis Grizzlies' slow start to the season

In years past, the Memphis Grizzlies have always been able to maintain a high seed in the playoffs even with their stars such as Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. missing time but this year, they have had a terrible 3-13 start to the season.

This is way below any and all expectations for this group so far this year. Jaren Jackson Jr. has yet to take the next step to be a leader for this team and they lack cohesion. We will have to wait and see how this team looks when Morant returns from his 25-game suspension but if this continues, they can be competing for a top pick in next year's draft.

And if that does happen, it will bring about some big questions about the team's future. Just a couple of seasons ago, the overwhelming thought was that the Grizzlies were at the beginning of what could be a very successful dynasty. However, now that is all in jeopardy. There's no question that this has become one of the bigger surprises of the NBA season thus far.
