17. New Orleans Pelicans (via Los Angeles) - Cody Williams, G/F, Colorado

With another possible mid-first-round selection because of the Los Angeles Lakers, the New Orleans Pelicans could take another shot at a talented prospect here. One potential player who could fit the mold on a worthy project is Cody Williams. The 6-foot-8 wing out of Colorado is somewhat of a hit-or-miss prospect. If he is selected high in the first round, it's going to be largely based on his potential.

Through the first few games of his freshman season at Colorado, Williams is averaging 11 points and four rebounds on 53 percent shooting from the field and 33 percent shooting from 3-point range. If he continues to show signs of promise, there's a chance we could see him continue to rise up the standings.

For a team like the Pelicans, that are looking for additional projects to solidify their chances of making a move up the Western Conference standings over the next few seasons, taking a gamble on Williams could be a worthy decision.
