19. Phoenix Suns - Devin Carter, G, Providence

Heading into the NBA offseason, there's a very good chance that the only true way that the Phoenix Suns are going to be able to significantly upgrade their roster is going to be via their first-round pick. The Suns could elect to trade this asset or use it by picking a player that they believe could contribute to the team sooner rather than later.

For the sake of this exercise, let's assume that the Suns are going to make it pick in hopes of keeping it and developing the player into a contributor this upcoming season. With that in mind, one prospect that could make sense as a ready-to-play contributor is Devon Carter. The Providence guard averaged 20 points, nine rebounds, and four assists per game on 47 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from 3-point range.

As he makes his transition to the NBA, the hope is that Carter could come in and play some sort of role for the sons next season. With a clear need in the backcourt, Carter could make sense as a selection at this point in the first round for the Suns.
