11. Portland Trail Blazers (via Golden State) - Donovan Clingan, C, UCONN
Maybe you disagree with my assertion that it's been a disastrous start to the rebuild for the Portland Trail Blazers because of the raw talent that they have on their roster, but either way, it's not what many expected it to be at this point in the season. But even if Scoot Henderson and the rest of their young guards and wings begin to figure things out, there's no question that there is still a need in the frontcourt moving forward.
That's where the importance of the 2024 NBA Draft will come into play. With a projected second lottery pick, the Blazers could use this selection to address some of their concerns at the center position. With Kyle Filipowski already off the board, perhaps Donovan Clingan would be a fit for the rebuilding Blazers.
Clingan returned to the Connecticut Huskies for his sophomore season and that decision is already paying dividends for his draft stock. Through the first few games of the season, Clingan is averaging 13 points, six rebounds, and two blocks per game on 62 percent shooting from the field.
