Expendable difference-maker: Gary Harris

The Orlando Magic have been one of the biggest surprises in the Eastern Conference this season. While the verdict is still out on how much staying power they have, this is certainly a team that, at the very least, is going to compete for a playoff spot in the East. One player that could be viewed as a bit of an expendable difference-maker is veteran guard Gary Harris. With how their young backcourt is developing, there's a chance the team explores moving on from Harris.

Harris is in the final year of his contract with the team and it's unlikely he's going to be re-signed by the team during the offseason. That could open the door for him to be moved ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline. And if Orlando's young backcourt continues to develop, that may very well be the expectation for the team.

A lot of that will depend on how Markelle Fultz looks when he returns from injury. He's only played in five games this season. But when healthy, the Magic have a solid collection of backcourt players in Fultz, Cole Anthony, Jalen Suggs, and rookie Anthony Black. There may not be a huge role for Harris by the end of the season.
