Toronto Raptors
Expendable difference-maker: Jalen McDaniels
The Toronto Raptors are one of the teams that many expect to be heavily involved in what happens at the NBA Trade Deadline. But aside from the likes of Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby, there's another potential difference-maker on the roster who could be viewed as expendable. And one of those players is Jalen McDaniels. He was signed during the offseason but hasn't played much of a role for the Raptors this season.
McDaniels showed some promise during his time with the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 11 points and five rebounds on 45 percent shooting from the field during the 2022-23 before he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. However, and as was the case with the Sixers to end last season, there hasn't been much of a role for him with the Raptors.
However, I'd have to think that perhaps there is another team that could give him the opportunity to be a real contributor. Unless the Raptors are planning on making the quick shift toward rebuilding, McDaniels may be better suited on another team.
