Expendable difference-maker: Royce O'Neale

Behind Cameron Johnson and Mikal Bridges in the depth chart, Royce O'Neale is certainly a player who is viewed as somewhat expendable for the Brooklyn Nets. Add in the fact that he's going to hit the free-agency market after this season and it's easy to see why he could emerge as a trade candidate for the Nets this season. It's unlikely that he's going to be brought back next season unless it's on the cheap.

While O'Neale may not be a starter anymore for the Nets, as a player who has been a consistent starter for the majority of his career, he's certainly someone who could be targeted by a team in need of a 3-and-D addition. The Nets would miss O'Neale but they'd be able to get by without him on the roster.

Add in the fact that the Nets are unlikely to make much noise in the Eastern Conference playoffs and it makes even more sense that Brooklyn could elect to move on from a player like O'Neale. If Brooklyn does end up moving off some of their expiring deals, O'Neale will likely be one of those players.
