Panic move: Trading young pieces for veteran depth
The defending champion Denver Nuggets have ben taking it pretty through the first quarter of the season. They're still near the top of the Western Conference standings but have struggled at various moments this season. But that's the natural lull of the regular season, especially for a contender like the Nuggets. The question is, will they make a move ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline?
Even though I still feel fairly strong about the Nuggets and their ability to flip a switch heading into the playoffs, I'd still be somewhat concerned about their bench. And heading into the NBA Trade Deadline, I don't think it's entirely out of the question for this team to explore trading some of their young pieces to add veteran talent.
They lost Bruce Brown (to the Indiana Pacers) and Jeff Green (to the Houston Rockets) during the offseason. Maybe those are two spots to their supporting cast that they do have interest in filling before the push toward the playoffs. If so, it will likely come at the expense of their young talent.
