Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks are another one of those teams in the Western Conference that have played slightly better than expected. Even though they have one of the most talented rosters in the league, the Mavs were still somehow overlooked heading into this season. Now that the Mavs have proven they can keep pace with some of the other West teams, they could be looking to make a splash deal to put them over the top at the NBA Trade Deadline.
Even though they do like what they have in rookie Dereck Lively II, perhaps adding a veteran presence to mentor him would help on multiple fronts. One player that could fit that role right now is Clint Capela. He's a player that would be a difference-maker this season and one that could pay dividends in Lively's development.
If the Atlanta Hawks get to a point where they're ready to move on from Capela, the Mavs could emerge as a potential landing spot. Capela would balance out the starting 5 and would give Dallas a good shot at making waves in the postseason.
