Memphis Grizzlies
NBA Trade Deadline target: Clint Capela, Atlanta Hawks
The Memphis Grizzlies have not only missed Ja Morant to start the season but you can also make the argument that they've greatly missed the presence of Steven Adams at the center position. At some point, you'd have to think that the Grizzlies are going to try to make an addition via trade to help beef up their frontcourt. They may be waiting for the right opportunity to present itself. Maybe Clint Capela could emerge as an option if the perfect storm arises.
If the Atlanta Hawks continue to remain stuck in mediocrity, it's not out of the realm of possibility that they could make a few big moves at the deadline. One of them could involve trading Capela, who has just one year remaining on his contract after this season. Perhaps the Grizzlies could attempt to make a move for the difference-making center.
Capela could do some of the things that the Grizzlies miss from Adams. He'd offer a strong defensive presence in the paint and would protect the paint. Right now, the Grizzlies have a pretty average defense. Last season, they finished with a top 5 unit. Capela might be exactly what Memphis needs.
