Miami Heat
NBA Trade Deadline target: Alex Caruso
To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure the Miami Heat will be able to get what they need at this year's NBA Trade Deadline. Ideally, the Heat would be able to land a star player at the deadline to help be the final piece of a championship puzzle. That player is not available at the moment. For as good as Zach LaVine may be, he's not the answer for the Heat. They may explore that option but I'd be extremely surprised if they pulled the trigger.
If a player like Donovan Mitchell suddenly becomes available, that kind of changes things for the Heat. But I have a hard time believing that's going to happen. But there are more realistic options that would make sense for the Heat, and Alex Caruso is one of those players. With a clear need in the backcourt, Caruso fits the Heat culture to a T.
Caruso does the dirty work that the Heat looks for in supporting players and he'd help fill the need that the team has at the point guard position. If/when the Heat decides to move on from Kyle Lowry, Caruso would make that transition all the more easier. The big question is whether the Heat would be willing to meet the Bulls' demands.
