Orlando Magic
Even though the Orlando Magic made one of the bigger splash moves of the NBA offseason in which they signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope away from the Denver Nuggets, there's still an argument to be made that the team could still have a need in the backcourt. Aside from KCP, there is still plenty of uncertainty and consistency in Orlando's backcourt. For as much as the Magic need a playmaker, Simons' scoring ability would be a welcomed sight for the team. How they would manage that remains to be seen, but it's an intriguing possibility that could make sense.
After the strides that the Magic made last season, adding a player as dynamic as Simons is on the offensive end of the floor would do wonders for the team. Even though KCP is going to make the Magic better heading into next season, there's no guarantee Orlando ends up making much of a move up the conference standings.
But adding KCP AND Simons, and we could be having a different conversation about where Orlando stands among the rest of the East contenders.
