NBA Trade Rumors: 7 Biggest trade candidates that become trade-eligible December 15
Lonnie Walker IV, Brooklyn Nets
Winners of six of their last seven games, the Brooklyn Nets have begun to play much better of late. They're 12-9 and are sitting in the top 8 of the Eastern Conference standings. However, in what has become a competitive East, there's no guarantee the Nets will be able to remain in the top 10. If the Nets begin to fade in the standings over the next few weeks, I don't think it would be that shocking for them to be open-minded to potentially shopping Lonnie Walker IV.
Walker signed a one-year deal during the offseason and will be looking to lock in a long-term deal this summer. It could be with the Nets but with the chance that he looks to take his talents elsewhere, perhaps Brooklyn would much rather cash in on their gamble from this past summer. Walker has been a difference-maker for the Nets this season and could be a huge pickup for a contender at the trade deadline.
It's not out of the realm of possibility that the Nets could find a contender willing to send a future first-round pick in exchange for Walker at the deadline. If the Nets are offered that, I'd be hard-pressed to believe they would decline.
