Buddy Hield, Indiana Pacers
At the beginning of the season, there was a belief that the Indiana Pacers and Buddy Hield were going to work together to find a trade that would make sense for both sides after they failed to reach an agreement on a contract extension. However, that hasn't exactly played out over the first few weeks of the season. From the looks of things, it would be surprising if Hield was traded before the trade deadline. However, a lot can change between now and the deadline.
If the Warriors want to seek a scoring wing, Hield could be one of their primary targets. He's unlikely to re-sign with the Pacers long-term even if he isn't moved by the deadline. The only reason the Pacers would not trade him at the deadline is because they believe they have a realistic chance to make the playoffs, which they do.
However, in the end, I'd have to imagine that the Pacers will come to the realization that it's probably better for them to cash in on the asset that Hield is rather than to string him along hoping they could come to a contract extension after the season. Hield would be an immediate boost to a Warriors offense that has been more miss than hit this season.
