NBA Trade Rumors: 7 Bold deadline targets to make Golden State Warriors title contenders
Pascal Siakam, Toronto Raptors
In what would end up being the pipe dream of all pipe dreams heading into the NBA Trade Deadline, targeting a player like Pascal Siakam could completely change the trajectory of the Golden State Warriors' season. Adding another superstar talent in his prime next to Stephen Curry may be exactly the move that the Warriors should be pursuing if they can't bust out of their slump to start the season.
Siakam next to Curry would be borderline unfair for opposing teams. A frontcourt that features both Draymond Green and Siakam would immediately be one of the most feared big-man duos in the Western Conference, if not the entire NBA. Of course, dream possibility comes down to two factors. The first is whether the Raptors get to a point where they're serious about trading Siakam. Right now, that doesn't seem to be the case.
And the second factor that could determine this possibility is whether the Warriors could theoretically meet Toronto's asking price. Would a package from Golden State of two future first-round picks and young players be appealing enough for the Raptors? It seems unlikely, but maybe the Warriors are one of the few spots that Siakam would welcome a trade to.
The Warriors likely need to make a trade at the deadline. Can they pull the trigger on a deal that moves the need enough for them to reemerge as a legit NBA Championship contender?
