Lauri Markkanen, Utah Jazz
Even though it's still highly unlikely that the Utah Jazz will trade Lauri Markkanen despite their early-season struggles, he's still a player who should be on the Indiana Pacers' radar. With as many assets and young players that the Pacers have on their roster, perhaps they can negotiate the Jazz to a point where they'd be open to moving him. Would they decline a young player + 2-3 future first-round picks?
I'd make the call if I was the Pacers. After all, what's the worst thing that can happen? The Jazz say no? On the flip side, what if the Jazz does agree to a deal? Then the Pacers have a core of Tyrese Haliburton, Bennedict Mathurin, and Markkanen, and then could make a decision on Myles Turner either way.
After a breakout year last season, Markkanen has picked up where he left off and is averaging 24 points and nine rebounds per game on 48 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from 3-point range. He could be the exact star that the Pacers need to help them take the next step in the Eastern Conference.
