OG Anunoby, Toronto Raptors
When it was initially reported that the Indiana Pacers intended on being aggressive heading into the NBA Trade Deadline, OG Anunoby was probably one of the first names that was thrown out. And rightfully so. Anunoby checks a lot of the boxes that the Pacers are theoretically looking for. He has experience being a supporting star and would help on the defensive front on the wing. In the last year of his contract, it's probably in the best interest of the Raptors and Anunoby to part ways. Especially with the way Toronto has underwhelmed this season.
And the Pacers could be the ideal spot for Anunoby. A core four of Tyrese Haliburton, Bennedict Mathurin, Anunoby, and Myles Turner could make some serious noise in the Eastern Conference over the next couple of seasons. The best part about this potential move is that it's not just for this season. This opens a contending window for the next 2-3 years, at least, for Indiana.
The big question is whether Anunoby is willing to sign a long-term extension with the Pacers. Maybe the lure of Haliburton and being a prominent player for a dark horse contender would be enough?
