New York Knicks
Finally, the New York Knicks. Even though it's been reported that there may not be a match between the Knicks and Zach LaVine, I can't help but wonder if that could potentially change with the lack of interest league-wide. Would the Knicks and LaVine be able to find a middle ground in the event that this becomes a real possibility? If it's even remotely possible, there is a path toward a deal getting done between the two teams.
In this deal, the Knicks would match salaries with the help of Evan Fournier and Isaiah Hartenstein. They would then throw in Quentin Grimes as a player to add some value to the offer, along with their lightly-protected 2025 first-round pick. If there is a slow market for LaVine, this could be enough to get a deal done.
The question then becomes whether a core of Jalen Brunson, LaVine, RJ Barrett, Julius Randle, and Mitchell Robinson is good enough to make a deep run in the Eastern Conference.
LaVine is likely going to be traded at some point before the NBA Trade Deadline. The question is, where will he land? Right now, it's almost impossible to predict where that will be. Though, there's a good chance it could end up being one of these five teams.
