Buddy Hield, Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers are another Eastern Conference team that has gotten off to an impressive start to the season but there is still a solid chance that they end up parting ways with Buddy Hield before the NBA Trade Deadline passes. Indiana has a high asking price for Hield but it would make little sense for them to keep him around considering he doesn't line up with the timeline of the rest of their young core.
If the right deal does come around for the Pacers, I can't imagine they'll hesitate to move on from him. A team like the Magic could be viewed as a potential landing spot for Hield. He can play a strong veteran role for the team and emerge as one of their primary scoring options. Plus, Orlando could be a place where he can get the long-term extension that he's likely going to be seeking.
As an expiring contract after this season, the Magic could view Hield as an experiment and if it doesn't end up working out, they could simply part ways with him after this year. The big question is whether Orlando would be willing to meet the asking price of Indiana with the potential of this just being a half-year rental.
