For a moment, Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert was the center of attention again — and not for writing a letter. Although, it was for an equally ridiculous reason.

On July 6th, we had the stalking of Dan Gilbert’s plane that was headed for South Beach (apparently), LeBron James signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, then with the Cleveland Cavaliers and finally with the Miami Heat. We also had Carmelo Anthony on the Lakers and Heat, while Chris Bosh decided to sign a max deal with the Houston Rockets.
It was quite the day. Here is the NBA free agency rundown for a crazy Sunday:
A plane that may or may not have Dan Gilbert landed in South Florida.

Boris Diaw re-signs with the San Antonio Spurs.
Free agent Boris Diaw has reached agreement on three-year, $22M deal to return to Spurs, sources tell Yahoo. Partial guarantee on 3rd year.

Apparently Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Love played pick up together.
FWIW: A UCLA senior associate athletic director tweets that Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Love were playing pickup at UCLA today.
— Ian Begley (@IanBegley) July 6, 2014
OK, maybe it was just Melo and Kobe.
If Carmelo Anthony and Kobe Bryant were playing ball at UCLA today, one thing's for sure, source tells Yahoo: Kevin Love wasn't with them.

Chris Broussard then tried to mess up a nice Sunday evening.
Cleveland has replaced Miami as my frontrunner to land LeBron James...
— Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) July 7, 2014
Madness ensued.
I'm not saying LJ to Cavs is done deal or I know 4 a fact; just my gut feeling based on many conversations I've had around this story...
— Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) July 7, 2014
These convos aren't sourced enough 4 me to report as fact. But I've heard enough to believe "the wind is blowing" LJ back home. We'll see...
— Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) July 7, 2014
Just when we were brushing off Broussard’s ridiculousness, Woj made us second-guess ourselves.
Around Bosh/Wade, there's uneasiness about James' intent; uncertainty. No one's sure -- yet. Heat aren't done, but empire's teetering.

The Rockets want Chris Bosh. Bad.
ESPN sources say Rockets are "heavily engaged" with Chris Bosh in attempt to get Bosh to leave Heat in free agency. Story hits online soon
— Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine) July 7, 2014
No one knows -- yet -- if LeBron is serious about leaving Miami. But Rockets have moved quickly to front of the Bosh line if Bron relocates
— Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine) July 7, 2014
Meanwhile, Bosh still has hope that he can re-sign in Miami. You know, assuming LeBron comes back.
Chris Bosh still hasn't taken step of talking directly with Rockets, sources tell Yahoo Sports. If he does, things could change fast here.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 7, 2014
Finally, LeBron James makes a move. He’ll meet with Pat Riley.
LeBron James planning a face-to- face meeting with Pat Riley in next few days, sources tell ESPN. USA Today reported earlier.
— Brian Windhorst (@WindhorstESPN) July 7, 2014
In the end, it was just another ordinary NBA Free Agency day.
So today we've had people track a plane, Dan Gilbert deny he was on said plane, and a pickup game that may or may not have happened. Fun.
