With the NBA Playoffs on the verge of kicking off, we preview and predict each Western Conference first round matchup

More from Sir Charles In Charge

Other than the Golden State Warriors, you can’t really predict the outcomes, with the utmost certainty, in the Western Conference’s first round matchups.

On one side, you have the sixth seeded San Antonio Spurs, and defending NBA Champions, taking on the red-hot Los Angeles Clippers. This could be the first time in NBA history that we would consider a three-seed knocking off a sixth-seed as an upset.

Then, you have the Rockets and Mavericks doing the Texas two-step rivalry thing, along with the Blazers and Grizzlies ready to go to war in a battle of polar opposites.

It will only get crazier — and better — in the second round. Until then, here is the Western Conference first round preview. Along with some predictions that are sure to go wrong.
