NBA Finals 2014: How The Spurs Defended LeBron James’ 3rd Quarter Frenzy
In his second field goal, LeBron starts the play by setting a screen for Norris Cole. LeBron is now being guarded by Boris Diaw, aka “The LeBron Stopper.” The Spurs commit the same mistake (mostly because they don’t view LeBron as a shooter), Diaw helps Parker on Cole and LeBron simple floats to the three-point line. By the time Diaw realizes that the ball is going back to LeBron, he now has to fight through a significant amount of ground to cover, but also a screen by Chris Andersen.
LeBron realizes that he’s literally WIDE OPEN and sinks the triple. Diaw doesn’t even contest. He had no chance.
