New York Knicks trade Iman Shumpert to the Phoenix Suns for the 27th overall pick.

The Knicks’ targets would essentially be the same. One of P.J. Hairston or Tyler Ennis could be there with this pick.

This makes plenty of sense for the Suns, as well. They are looking for guard depth behind Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe (If he returns) and Shumpert would be a solid fit. He brings the freakish athletic ability that will mesh with other super athletes like Bledsoe and Gerald Green. His defensive-minded approach would be a good change of pace for the Suns, as they have never been known for their defense. Their unit allowed 102.6 PPG to opposing teams this past season, which was the 10th worst in the league.
