WILL KYLE LOWRY RE-SIGN WITH THE RAPTORS?

Michael Saenz — I have this feeling that Lowry will find himself on the Miami Heat next season. I believe that Dwyane Wade will take a significant pay cut, which he is rumored to taking, and the Heat will use its money on a point guard — specifically, Lowry.

George MiddletonKyle Lowry will not re-sign with the Toronto Raptors. Lowry and the Miami Heat have “mutual interest”. If one of the big three takes a pay cut, he lands there. A dark-house in landing Lowry are the Los Angeles Lakers.

Robert Wolkenbrod — I believe he does. After the season that Lowry and the Raptors put together, I can’t see Masai Ujiri letting him walk. Ujiri just better be ready to open up the team’s checkbook.

John Armstrong — Nope.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

David Ramil — Yes, he will, and he’ll break the bank – and the team – in doing so. Lowry’s an enigma, a surprise boost for a team that was looking to tank and then surprisingly didn’t and it’s no coincidence Lowry’s best year as a pro came during a contract year. This opportunity represents his best chance to cash in before he’s too old or ineffective and he’ll look for the biggest contract a team can offer; and Toronto can offer the biggest. His presser will include how he wants “to keep wining” or “build something” in Toronto, how his teammates are “like family,” but at this stage of his journeyman career, his biggest motivation is financial.

Bryce Olin — I think so. I can’t imagine him leaving after the year he had last season and how the fans in T-dot really got behind the team. Toronto has the cap space to pay him as much as anyone. General Manager Masai Ujiri is known for making crazy roster moves, but he’d be crazy to let Lowry walk this offseason. I’d overpay to keep him, especially with how bad the East is, but there is a reason Ujiri is an NBA GM and I’m just a dude with a laptop…

Andrew Livingston — Yes? But not after some hardcore courting. The east is still pretty weak, so the Raptors could eclipse the Pacers as Eastern Conference Finals threat to the Heat. It’s easy to see Lowry could turn to the dark side, but I imagine the Raps will turn up the charm.
