The Denver Nuggets faltered last season, but Ty Lawson wasn’t the reason. No player averaged more drives per game then Lawson, and no team (outside of the Mavericks) scored more points from a player’s drives, then the Nuggets did from Lawson’s. Though he’s always been a consistent scorer, Ty took another step as a floor-general last year, as he posted a career high 8.8 assists per game.
Ty Lawson’s weakness as a player is the usual weakness of star point guards. He’s a minus on defense, and as a player whose reached his prime (he’ll be 27 this season), that will likely never change. Still, he’s a dynamic force on offense, and if the Nuggets can field a competitive team, Lawson could get the acclaim he deserves.
