Dwyane Wade Will Look Like Dwyane Wade…Again
Dwyane Wade never actually left.
Many quickly forgot that Wade averaged 19 points, 4.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game during the 2013-14 NBA regular season, all while shooting a career-high 55 percent from the field. His demise has been greatly exaggerated.
Yes, Wade did have a poor NBA Finals series against the San Antonio Spurs and practically disappeared when LeBron James needed him most, but that can’t discount the fact that Wade still posted above average numbers last year. Let’s not act like he was horrible. He wasn’t.
The thing with Wade, though, is that it’s all going to come down to his health. If Wade isn’t healthy, his production and effectiveness is going to drop significantly. If he’s healthy, something that he hasn’t been in quite some time, he’ll be able to maintain his high level of play.
Fair or not, it’s all going to come down to healthy for Wade.
I believe he’ll have a “clean enough” bill of health in order to continue to be a factor in this league.
