The San Antonio Spurs Will Finally Look Old
If it’s going to happen at any point with this team, which it could very well not, it’s going to be this season.
The San Antonio Spurs are coming off two-straight NBA Finals appearances, and their fifth NBA Championship. San Antonio will have to stave off complacency and age, one very deadly combination.
Even though the Spurs roster only contains five players over 30 years of age, three of their top-four players on the club are over the age of 32. Two of them, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan, are pushing the big 40.
Father time is undefeated.
If the Spurs lose any type of significant production, even simply presence, from Ginobili and/or Duncan, this team won’t be that same squad that dominated and embarrassed that LeBron James led team back in June.
I think father time finally feasts on the Spurs. While San Antonio won’t be lottery-bound bad, they’re certainly not going to be what we’ve come to know from Gregg Popovich led Spurs teams of the past.
