Los Angeles Lakers
It’s no secret that the Lakers’ season is going to greatly hinge on the health of its “stars.” Kobe Bryant (achilles, knee) and Steve Nash (nerve root irritation in left leg), both coming off pretty serious injuries, will need strong bounce-back efforts this season in order for the Lakers to avoid being the laughingstock of the league in back-to-back years.
But a 36-year-old Kobe on a gimpy knee, and a 40-year-old Nash with nerve issues, isn’t exactly the safest thing to bet your entire season on. Though, if the Lakers can get even an 80 percent of what we’ve come to know of Kobe Bryant, and some sparingly “A” efforts from their supporting cast, the Lakers might be able to stumble their way to a 40-win season.
Unfortunately, 40 wins isn’t enough to make the playoffs in the Western Conference.
