As we continue our NBA Preview series, we take a look at 30 burning questions for all 30 NBA teams
Chicago Bulls
Burning Question: If Derrick Rose doesn’t return to his former self (on the court), will this team still be a contender?
The worst-case scenario for any Chicago Bulls fan is the odd, and potentially unlikely, scenario in which Derrick Rose isn’t all the he used to be once he fully returns back from his injury. If he can’t beat off the dribble on a consistent basis, play at a high level for a consistent basis and if he simply doesn’t have the same impact. What happens then? Will this Bulls team have enough to stay afloat? Probably, just enough. The thing with this year’s Bulls team is that it won’t be reliant on Rose — it’s built not to be. They’ve added offense, defense and options. Anything Rose can offer, in terms of superstar-ness, is actually a plus. That’s why this Bulls team has so much potential. The only concern is, we really don’t know what we’re going to get from Rose.
