David Blatt has won Coach of the Year several times while coaching abroad and could very well win the award in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers. While this is a definite possibility, many believe he doesn’t have much coaching to do since the Cavaliers have a “super” team.

LeBron James may be doing most of the coaching, but Blatt will still being serving as a huge “assistance” for the Cavaliers this season. With claims that his offense is “borderline genius” from Mike Miller, Blatt has a chance at wrapping his hands around his first Coach of the Year award in the NBA.

While his accolades don’t relate to coaching actual NBA players, he’s still been successful in coaching in general. Although, his chances will greatly hinge on his ability to mesh superstars. If it goes well, then Blatt could be a top candidate.
