The Bucks and Brandon Knight didn’t come to an agreement, which was somewhat expected. The Bucks right now are a struggling team that are still missing a proper direction, and the last thing they needed now was another long-term contract draped in uncertainty. Knight may have averaged 17.9 points last season, but struggled from the field and looked more like a sixth man caliber player than full-time starter.
With Jabari Parker and Giannis Antetokounmpo developing, it might also be in Milwaukee’s best interest to keep cap space open for the future, as several high-profile players will hit the market these next two years.
Ruling: Clever progressive decision.
