In Charlotte, Kemba Walker got his extension which is worth $48 million over four years. This is the perfect example of a contract with the new TV-contract in mind. Walker, under this cap, is hardly worth $12 million a year, but when the cap rises, it’s a deal that’s at least more tolerable, which theoretically should satisfy both sides.

Walker is a guy the Hornets value, and see as part of the core going forward. While not in a completely similar position as Klay Thompson, Walker was also extended as to avoid distraction, so the team could focus on remaining a playoff contender for years to come.

Ruling: Slightly overpaid.
