Ideal landing spot(s): Boston Celtics (with Rajon Rondo), Sacramento Kings 

This project has been a failure — since day one.

Josh Smith doesn’t fit with the Detroit Pistons, and the Detroit Pistons don’t fit with Josh Smith. It’s one of the worst marriages that the NBA has ever seen. A Smith-Andre Drummond-Greg Monroe frontcourt never meshed, and there’s nothing that has been done this season that would indicate otherwise.

If there’s even one team with even mild interest in Smith, the Pistons need to jump on that opportunity.
