Was there a bigger mistake this offseason than the Charlotte Hornets signing Lance Stephenson?

If you’re not ready to give that dubious award out yet, that seems to be the leader in the clubhouse at the very least. Stephenson is shooting only 37 percent from the field, and an anemic 18 percent from three-point range through 18 games this season. Right now, he’s looking like a horrible fit under Steve Clifford’s offense in Charlotte.

Then again, that’s assuming you count what Clifford’s team is running when they’re not on the defensive end is “offense.” With the NBA’s 27th ranked “offense” (scoring only 97.6 points per 100 possessions), that could be argued.

The Hornets have lost nine-straight games. Nine. 9.

Charlotte’s lack of offense could be the scapegoat that keeps this team from reaching the playoffs for their second-straight year.
