This was almost a forgone conclusion since the season began.

The Sixers should’ve hit the panic button as soon as their front office decided to select two players (Joel Embiid and traded for Dario Saric) in the first round of the NBA draft that were not going to have any role, or play at all, on the team this season.

If anything, the Sixers regressed from last season. They certainly didn’t improve on the court. Unfortunately, games in the NBA aren’t played on paper.

At some point, the Sixers are eventually going to have to “try.” And I’m not talking about the players. I’m referencing the front office. The Players are trying, giving it all they have. They simply aren’t good enough as a collective group in order to compete in the NBA.

Which is a shame. This isn’t what the NBA should be about.
