Team Would Better Situate Themselves For Lottery Night

On the other end of it, if Carmelo Anthony would shut it down this season, the Knicks may not win another game this season. Which would be good for their chances on NBA draft lottery night.

The easiest way for the Knicks to get back into NBA relevance is to luck out on lottery night, snag a stud rookie and another quality free agent during the summer.

If the Knicks manage to do that, they’ll be fine heading into next season. Although, in order for that to happen, the Knicks perhaps may need to embrace the tank. Something the Sixers have mastered.

In essence, that scenario would be a win-win for the Knicks. Melo would get healthy, and the franchise could still be taking steps toward its return to the playoffs.
