  • I may end up eating my words here, but looking at the standings and considering how the Oklahoma City Thunder have been playing as of late, I don’t think it’s that out of the question to say that the Suns will make the Western Conference playoffs instead of OKC.

Phoenix is currently 2.5 games ahead of the Thunder in the Western Conference standings with OKC losing two of its last three games.

That’s exactly how to successfully fumble away a playoff berth. Luckily, during the Thunder’s two-game losing streak, the Suns failed to extend that 2.5 game lead. Luckily.

Still, the Thunder have been so up and down lately, probably to some extent because of early season injuries to Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, that it’s actually taken a real toll on their playoff chances. While much of the public believe that it’s a forgone conclusion that the Thunder will make the playoffs, I wouldn’t bet on it.

Nothing has gone OKC’s way this season, so I’m suddenly supposed to believe that’s going to change, now?

    Nah.
