First Half Highlight: Kobe Bryant breaking passing Michael Jordan on the NBA all-time scoring list

Analysis: For Lakers fans, this season is going to be considered a failure. For objective NBA fans, those that don’t have any emotional connection to Los Angeles, this is the season that many expected the Lakers to have. Minus, of course, the whole part of Kobe Bryant getting injured and missing the entire second half of the season, on top of Julius Randle missing 81 games this year as well.

The silver lining in all this, though, is that the Lakers will once again likely have a top pick in this year’s draft, assuming they can keep their record down.

Los Angeles has some series decisions ahead of them, though it appears that one has already been answered for them: Kobe Bryant is coming back for another season.

Despite that, the Lakers get a failing grade.
