Lance Stephenson
Likely Destination(s): Brooklyn Nets
Source: Numerous Reports
At one point this season, Lance Stephenson was nearly a Brooklyn Net. According to Grantland’s Zach Lowe, “the deal was basically done.” Ultimately, something happened to abruptly change the minds of both the Nets and Hornets, and Stephenson is still in Charlotte.
The addition of Stephenson in the offseason, which seemed like a great move at the time, hasn’t panned out as many expected it to. Mostly because Stephenson’s shooting has been atrocious this season. The 24-year-old guard is shooting a career-low in overall field goal percentage (37 percent) and three-point percentage (15 percent) — not counting his rookie season in which he only played in 12 games.
The only roadblock with trying to trade Stephenson is the fact that no one is really interested in him at the moment. Perhaps the Hornets are going to regret not pulling the trigger when they had the chance?
